Gorenje Orodjarna d.o.o., a medium-sized manufacturing company with a long-standing tradition in the development and production of high-precision industrial tools, wanted to explore the possibilities of using advanced digital technologies for the modern presentation of its complex products. The main challenge was how to present technically demanding products to business partners in an effective, visually appealing and easily understandable way, particularly at trade fairs and promotional events.

As part of the EDIH DIGI-SI project, the company, in cooperation with researchers from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics at the University of Maribor, tested the Dreamoc XL3 holographic technology. The solution was based on a practical test of the equipment, an analysis of the user experience, and an assessment of the technology’s suitability for real business scenarios.

The testing enabled direct work with the company’s digital 3D product models, as well as an assessment of visualisation quality, interactivity and the adaptability of content for different target groups. In addition to the technical aspects, the preparation of digital materials from both a content and organisational perspective was also addressed.

The process began with the definition of the company’s needs and an analysis of potential use cases for holographic technology. This was followed by a full-day testing session with the Dreamoc XL3 equipment. In the introductory part, participants were introduced to the operation of holographic technology, the technical characteristics of the equipment and the procedures for preparing digital content. The practical part then focused on testing, during which company representatives uploaded and displayed 3D models of selected industrial products and evaluated the quality and usability of the presentation.

The final phase was dedicated to analysing the results, collecting feedback and discussing possible improvements and next steps. Particular emphasis was placed on content adaptation, the organisation of internal processes and employee training.

As a result of the support, Gorenje Orodjarna d.o.o. gained a clear insight into the suitability of holographic technology for presenting its products. The testing confirmed a high quality of visualisation, a positive user experience and strong potential for the technology’s use in a business context.

The main benefits include:

  • reduced risk before a potential investment in new technology,
  • concrete data to support strategic decision-making,
  • improved understanding of the requirements for preparing digital content,
  • increased visibility and a more innovative company image,
  • strengthened cooperation with a research institution.

The service enabled the company to take a more considered and structured approach to the digital transformation of its marketing and promotional activities.

The solution contributes to the modernisation of industrial product presentation and encourages the use of advanced digital technologies in the manufacturing sector. It enables a better understanding of complex technical solutions and more effective communication between companies and their business partners.

From an economic perspective, the project strengthens the company’s competitiveness, supports its innovation-oriented development and contributes to the digital transformation of the regional industrial environment. At the same time, it demonstrates the added value of EDIH services in supporting SMEs in the adoption of advanced technologies.
