Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)
Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)
Does your company use ChatGPT, Copilot, or other artificial intelligence tools? Are you considering introducing AI solutions into your business operations? If so, you will sooner or later encounter the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act).
The AI Act is the first European regulation establishing rules for the development and use of artificial intelligence. Its purpose is to foster innovation while ensuring that AI systems are used safely, transparently, and responsibly.
For businesses, it is particularly important to understand when the use of AI gives rise to specific obligations, how to ensure compliance with the legislation, and where to find information and support when implementing new solutions.
On this page, you will find basic information about the AI Act, along with links to official resources that can help you understand the new rules and their impact on your business.
Further Information and Support
In Slovenia, an important part of the responsibilities for implementing the AI Act is carried out by the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS). Under the Act on the Implementation of Regulation (EU) on Harmonised Rules on Artificial Intelligence (ZIUDHPUI), AKOS has established a single contact point for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, innovators, and other stakeholders.
AKOS provides basic information on the implementation of the AI Act, answers questions regarding rights and obligations, and raises public awareness about the changes introduced by the new European legislation. It regularly publishes updates, guidance, and answers to frequently asked questions on its website.
For official guidance and inquiries regarding the implementation of the AI Act, we recommend using the information and contact points provided by AKOS as the competent authority in this field.
