Building the Foundation for Integrating AI into Existing Business Information Systems
In this workshop, you will explore the MCP architecture, learn how to use existing MCP servers, and develop your own MCP server. Special emphasis will be placed on practical applications, security, and the limitations of the technology.
What will you do?
- Learn what MCP is and understand the roles of the host, client, and server
- Build your own MCP server
- Test the use of existing MCP servers
- Explore key security considerations, limitations, and implementation challenges
What does this mean in practice?
AI as a Gateway to Internal Systems
You will learn how a language model can access an ERP system, customer database, schedules, or internal APIs through MCP, without users having to manually transfer data between systems.
Connecting to Existing Tools
You will explore how existing MCP servers can connect AI to various business tools and data sources without having to develop every integration from scratch.
Control and Security in Integration
You will learn how the MCP architecture enables access management and why clearly defined permissions and oversight are essential when connecting AI to sensitive business data.
When Is MCP the Right Choice?
You will also explore the technology's limitations and challenges and learn how to assess where MCP is already a practical choice and where additional caution is needed during implementation.
Who Is This Workshop For?
The workshop is intended for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and their employees who want to connect artificial intelligence with existing tools, data, and information systems, and explore opportunities for automation and the development of their own AI solutions.
