As part of the workshop, participants will be introduced to the field of web security and penetration testing. The principles of ethical hacking will be presented, along with the related phases, processes, tools, and frameworks used to conduct it. The main focus will be on penetration testing of web applications, while reconnaissance, network scanning, system hacking, and other related techniques will also be covered.
The second part of the workshop will introduce the principles of web security from the perspectives of the client, server, and communication channel. One of the key aspects of web security will be the web security model and its components, such as SOP, CSP, SRI, and CORS, which contribute to ensuring security on the client side.
The server-side aspect of web security will also be addressed through an overview of the most common vulnerabilities identified in the OWASP Top 10. Participants will learn about the characteristics of individual vulnerabilities, as well as appropriate approaches and mechanisms for protecting against them.
Part of the workshop will also focus on mechanisms for securing communication between the server and client, primarily through the use of the HTTPS security protocol and appropriate, secure session management.
