Most companies use ChatGPT, Claude and other generative AI tools by explaining the context again every time they ask a question. Much greater possibilities emerge when we turn a tool into an agent – an assistant with a specific purpose, its own instructions and a clearly defined output that can be integrated into an actual workflow.
In this three-hour practical workshop, you will build your first AI agent step by step, focusing on a task you actually perform in your company.
What will you do?
- Understand when an AI agent makes sense and when a standard tool is sufficient.
- Choose a specific use case from your own work.
- Define the agent’s purpose, instructions, workflow and expected output.
- Test the agent using real-world examples and improve its performance.
- Learn how to further develop the agent and use it safely in your company.
What does this mean in practice?
An agent that takes care of repetitive tasks – in three hours, you will create a working agent or prepare its design for a task that currently takes up a significant amount of your time, such as processing incoming requests, drafting replies, summarising documents or providing user support.
Knowing when AI is worth using – you will learn how to distinguish between use cases where an agent adds value and those where it would simply be a more expensive version of an existing process. This will help you avoid choosing the wrong project.
Instructions that determine quality – you will discover why the same model can produce very different results and how a clear objective, high-quality instructions and a well-structured process affect the usefulness of an agent.
Safe use in a business environment – you will learn what to consider when processing data, where the limits of trusting an AI agent lie, and when decisions should remain in human hands.
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is intended for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and employees who want to move beyond occasional use of AI tools and develop an agent that performs a specific task.
No prior knowledge is required, as the workshop starts with the basics and explains the difference between a tool and an agent.
The workshop is free of charge and open to the general public. Priority registration is given to participants of AI WEEK who want to make the most of the third day by gaining hands-on experience with artificial intelligence.
Before attending, we recommend thinking of a specific task where an AI agent could help you with your work, task management, communication, content creation, information analysis or user support.

Workshop programme
12:00–12:15 | Registration and welcome coffee
Arrival of participants, registration and signing of the attendance sheet.
12:15–12:45 | Introduction: From ChatGPT to AI Agents
Welcome, introduction to the workshop objectives and an overview of the EDIH DIGI-SI 2.0 project and AI WEEK 2026. This will be followed by a brief introduction to the difference between using artificial intelligence tools in the usual way and working with AI agents. We will explore when an agent makes sense, when it does not, and how to choose a use case with a clearly defined purpose.
12:45–13:15 | Selecting a Use Case
Participants will identify a specific process, task or challenge where an AI agent could be useful. The focus will be on practical examples that participants can start developing during the workshop.
13:15–13:30 | Coffee Break and Networking
An opportunity to talk to the trainer and other businesses about practical AI use cases.
13:30–14:15 | Building Your First AI Agent
The main part of the workshop will focus on building an agent in practice. Participants will start creating their own agent step by step, defining its purpose, basic instructions, workflow and expected output.
14:15–14:45 | Testing and Improvements
We will test the agents using practical examples, assess the quality of their responses or performance, and explore how to improve them through better instructions, a clearer objective or a different process structure.
14:45–15:00 | How to Continue Independently and Closing
Practical guidance on further developing the agent, using it safely in a business environment and identifying new use cases where artificial intelligence can deliver the greatest value. The workshop will conclude with a short knowledge assessment and a participant satisfaction survey.
