The Information Security Management workshop is based on the body of knowledge for the ISACA CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) certification, which is designed for professionals, managers, and decision-makers responsible for information security within organizations.
Accordingly, the workshop is divided into four key areas. The first area is Information Security Governance, covering organizational culture, structures, roles and responsibilities, information security strategy, information security governance frameworks and standards, and methods for reviewing and assessing information security.
The second area is Information Security Risk Management, which includes risk management frameworks; risk identification, assessment, and evaluation; responses to information security risks; and risk monitoring, reporting, and communication.
The third part of the workshop focuses on the Information Security Program, including the development and management of the program, required resources, information security standards and frameworks, program performance metrics, and the planning and implementation of security controls.
The final part of the workshop focuses on Incident Management, including incident response planning, incident detection and handling, communication, remediation, recovery, and post-incident review. The impact of incidents on business operations, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning will also be addressed.
