The training will cover the core concepts of identification, authentication, and authorization (IAA), beginning with an introduction to IAA, its key concepts, and terminology. Participants will explore different digital identity models, including siloed, centralized, federated, and decentralized approaches, together with practical use cases for each model.
The training will then address various methods of identification and authentication, such as passwords, PIN codes, tokens, smart cards, and biometrics, as well as authentication mechanisms used in mobile and web-based solutions. The infrastructure-related topics will include Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), X.509 certificates, qualified and non-qualified digital certificates, and digital identity providers, including federated identity providers and services such as Google and Microsoft.
Regarding authentication implementation, the training will cover protocols and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML, as well as session management with JWT tokens. Particular emphasis will also be placed on multi-factor authentication (MFA) using technologies such as WebAuthn and FIDO2/U2F.
Authorization and access control will be addressed through Role- Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models, with implementations in modern IT architectures, including microservices and web services. The final part of the training will focus on practical applications and emerging technologies, including decentralized and self-sovereign identities, blockchain-based approaches, digital identity wallets, and regulatory frameworks such as eIDAS 2.0.
The workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of identification, authentication, and authorization, and equip them with practical knowledge to effectively manage digital identities and enhance cybersecurity.
