Enhance your company’s ICT literacy with the workshop “Business Efficiency with Excel”, designed to deepen your proficiency in Excel for everyday digital business environments. The workshop is structured into thematic modules, covering the basics of working with spreadsheets, cell formatting, and managing data lists. The workshop will be held online on 19th and 20th of December 2024 from 13.00 to 14.30.
Part 1 will focus on key features, like working with files, cell formatting, and other basic functions. Participants will learn how to use commands for managing spreadsheets, create tables and use shortcuts for faster navigation, and utilize functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, and others. Absolute and relative references will also be addressed, as well as naming cells, structuring data into tables, and designing graphs for data presentation.
Part 2 will focus on advanced tools like filters, custom sorting, and conditional formatting. Participants will learn using subtotals, data validation and mechanisms for collaborations.
The workshop includes numerous hands-on exercises simulating real-world business scenarios, from analysing sales results to preparing financial reports. Participants will acquire actionable skills they can immediately apply in their workplace.

The workshop will be led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igor Perko from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor. He teaches information systems for managers and introduces students to the use of business intelligence and analytical systems. His professional work includes the development of information systems, enhanced by multimedia and the application of virtual and augmented reality in business environments. His research focuses on the synergy between systems thinking, cybernetics, artificial intelligence, and sustainable strategies.
