Intellectual Property as a Driver of Investment

The event will take place on March 26, 2026, from 9:00 to 13:30 at Technology Park Ljubljana.
During the workshop, you will learn:
- Why intellectual property is a key driver of business growth,
- How IP impacts company valuation and access to financing,
- The role of IP in negotiations with investors and partners,
- How IP influences entry into international markets,
- Why incorrect or delayed decisions are often more costly than protection itself.
In the first part, representatives of the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office, Samra Jahić and Nina Mandl, will provide a clear and pragmatic framework for understanding IP and present WIPO programmes for rapid IP diagnostics and access to support.
This will be followed by a practical, real-world perspective delivered by Teja Pirnat (IPERIA LAE), a legal expert specializing in intellectual property and IT law.
The workshop will focus on concrete business dilemmas: what to protect, what to keep as a trade secret, and when protection may not be worthwhile.
