Tanja Lucaj

Saša Štraus, PhD

is an agricultural specialist and senior expert with more than 10 years of experience in leading research and development projects in agriculture and food in agrifood companies. She has covered various areas of agriculture, from field production (agronomic parameters of legumes, oilseeds, irrigation technologies), through the development of new products in the field of processing agricultural plants to the development of organic production in the field and livestock (pigs, broilers). As part of the agrifood chain, she has set up new quality schemes, namely GGAP, GRASP and GMO-free chicken. She was also active in circular economy and the development of the calculation of the environmental footprint of individual products based on life cycle assessment. Aleksandra is highly skilled in Communication and dissemination, developing and implementing dissemination and communication plans for the ITC, DIH AGRIFOOD and EU funded projects. She efficiently manages many social media channels, newsletters, websites, and other channels, achieving high visibility and impact in rural development and digital transformation. Aleksandra also has a track record in rural development strategic and operational work, being active at Regional Development Agency Mura. She was working on various strategic projects concerning the rural development of the Pomurje region.
