DIGI-SI WiseFood Hack: Co-Creating the Future of Sustainable Food
In co-organization with the WiseFood project, we are hosting the DIGI-SI Hackathon in collaboration with LL (Living Lab) members, where we will jointly co-create digital solutions for healthier, more sustainable, and more informed food choices.
The event is intended for everyone interested in digital solution development, user experience, sustainability, food systems, and collaborative innovation in an interdisciplinary environment.
Purpose of the Hackathon
The hackathon is designed as a co-design workshop, aimed at:
- evaluating WiseFood application prototypes,
- improving user experience,
- adapting functionalities to different types of households,
- identifying barriers and incentives for use,
- prioritizing further development before the start of the 8-week feasibility study.
The insights gathered will directly inform the further development of the applications.
Applications We Will Be Developing
- FoodScholar: An interactive application for nutrition-related questions.
- RecipeWrangler: A tool for recipe analysis and adaptation.
- FoodChat: A personalized meal planning assistant.
Methodological Approach: Persona-Based Co-Design
The hackathon is based on a co-design approach using role-play.
Participants will:
- assume the role of an assigned household persona,
- analyze the applications within specific life contexts,
- evaluate usability, functionalities, UX, visual style, and potential barriers.
The goal is to develop an empathetic understanding of the needs of different household types and to assess the relevance and acceptance of the proposed solutions.
Feedback and Expected Outcomes
At the end of the hackathon, participants will complete an online questionnaire and provide feedback on:
- application usability,
- clarity of navigation,
- comprehensibility of functionalities,
- overall user experience,
- interest in using the final version.
Expected outcomes:
- documented feedback per persona,
- identified priority improvements,
- a combination of quantitative and qualitative data to support further development.
